OUR NEEDS
Youth aging out of foster care face disproportionate barriers to stable housing, employment, education, and mental health support — often navigating fragmented systems without the guidance or resources needed to thrive. In the District of Columbia and surrounding Maryland counties, these gaps contribute to rising rates of youth homelessness, unemployment, and disengagement.
Ray’s Place Inc exists to disrupt this cycle by serving as a trusted bridge between siloed services and the young people who need them most. Our trauma-informed, culturally responsive approach provides individualized support through residential housing, life skills training, and community-based programming.
To meet growing demand and deepen our impact, we must strengthen our organizational capacity — investing in staff development, strategic planning, technology, outreach, and program evaluation. These enhancements will ensure that every youth we serve transitions into adulthood with stability, dignity, and opportunity.
