Born and raised in Alexandria, VA. Member of Bethlehem Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA. Working career includes, US Letter Carriers, C&P Telephone Company, Mobil Oil Corporation, Raytheon, and the Federal Government. Currently a Program & Budget Analyst with the Department of Defense.

Responsible for building, maintaining, and executing a 20-million-dollar budget for programs within the Defense Logistics Agency. I also serve on the Agency’s Teambuilding and Social Activities Committee. I hold a secret clearance.

With a passion for service, I held the position of President of the Women’s Ministry at Bethlehem Baptist Church for six years. Providing spiritual leadership, mental & health awareness, and community outreach opportunities. Also ministering to young adolescents in my community through providing a place to
stay, a hot meal to eat, and a soft place to land when in need.

I currently serve as a volunteer with the National Virginia Islamic Association in providing clothing, food, and household items to refugees in need. Some of my favorite pastimes include cooking, jigsaw puzzles, and creative coloring.

My most passionate pastime is spending time with my grandchildren. I am married to Reginald Gillis. We have three children and four grandchildren
